Is Twitter a Voting Clique?

I think there's a difference between "hey friends, I submitted this upvote it now!" and "hey friends, that article I wrote is here, vote if you liked it, it'll help me!".

Voting because they liked the content is always correct, sanctioned or otherwise, the issue comes from upvoting just because it's you or for monetary gain.

They are more concerned with organized, reciprocal voting; you vote for all my stuff, and I'll vote for all your stuff.

Awesome, thanks. I so sub stuff I write but mostly stuff I see on various sites. I tweet them all, but I have overzealous followers on Twitter so I just wanted to make sure if they vote my stuff up, does that penalize me. Thanks, this helps a lot!
