Does the spamfilter ever remove comments? (self.modhelp)

I know the spamfilter will occasionally remove "links" (posts) based on past moderator activity and some secret sauce, and I'm curious about whether the same happens with comments. Mods can "remove" comments -- does this train a filter?

The lack of a modqueue for comments just makes this more difficult to answer.

It definitely removes comments for shadow-banned users, but it's been a while since I've seen a comment get caught by the filter. Then again, most of the reddits I moderate aren't comment-heavy.

Yes they it definitely removes some comments. If the spam filter would remove their submission, it will also remove their comment. It turns them red so it's easy to identify. If their comment is harmless, approve it to let the spam filter know that 'this guy is ok.'
